Global Jadavpur University Alumni Foundation, Inc (GJUAF) is a registered, non-profit, 501 c 3 certified organization in the USA, Tax ID: 84-2431583

 

The objectives of the GJUAF are to bring all alumni together on one platform and reunite alumni from all over the world. The objectives are, but not limited to:

  • We Promote a strong relationship with alumni, professors, staff and the administration at JU with GJUAF.
  • Assist departments’ needs for operation and maintenance of laboratories
  • Initiate programs with universities outside India for graduate student assistantship and Scholar Exchange Programs
  • Provide an opportunity for the alumni to give back to the university. The details of sending donations to the university are explained in a section titled “Donate to GJUAF”

Mission

To provide a platform for global JU Alumni to meet and share their ideas for assisting JU (students / research scholars and professors / departments) through working with JU administrators with the goal of becoming a world-class university.

History

In early February 2018, the idea of Global Jadavpur University Alumni Foundation, Kolkata was discussed at Dr. Apurba Mukherjee’s place in Salt Lake.JU alumni from Kolkata and from overseas attended the meeting including Ranjit Chakravorti (’61 ChE), Apurba Mukherjee, (’63 ME), Amitava Mukherjee, New Zealand (Pharmacy,’74 ), Sipra Patra, Kolkata (’77 English) Indra Bhattacharya, USA (ME ‘63), Sankar Chakrabarti, Germany (’63 ME), and Ashok Sinha, Kolkata (’57 EE). A detailed discussion about the formation, and objectives of GJUAF has been presented in the Centenary Commemorative volume of Alumni Association NCE Bengal & Jadavpur University, January, 2020.
