The total amount received by JU from the Vice Chancellor’s appeal was Rs. 3,585,730 of which GJUAF’s contribution is Rs 511,215 – a 14% of the total donation.

In 2022, $8.5K sent to Jadavpur University in response to HOD’s request for 15 new computers.

Objective of GJUAF’s fundraising drive in 2022 is to support operation and maintenance of the laboratory in Jadavpur University. With this funding, GJUAF is helping different departments in Jadavpur University. One such example is buying 15 new computers for the Computer Lab in Production Engineering. In this effort, the GJUAF team closely worked with the Head of the Department (HOD) Prof. Bijoy Bhattacharyya in the Production Engineering and Finance Officer (FO) Mr. Gourkrishna Pattanayak of Jadavpur University to procure the computers within a month or so. The procurement process includes receiving of multiple quotations from different vendors for the computers, selection of a vendor by the University, transfer of fund from GJUAF to the University, awarding and financing the vendor followed by installation of 64-bit computers in the Computer Lab by replacing old-32-bit computers along with picture tube-based monitors. We appreciate the prompt response from FO Mr. Pattanayak and HOD Prof. Bhattacharyya. Without their constant interactions with us and support, delivery of these computers would not be possible in such a short time. We are currently in touch with different departments in Jadavpur University for helping in the operation and maintenance of laboratories.
