Impact

Rs 5 lakh was sent to JU in response to Prof Suranjan Das, Vice Chancellor’s appeal for Digital Divide. The funds were used for recharging cost. About 800 students were benefitted. (2021)

Prof Suranjan Das appealed for financial help for operation and maintenance of laboratories. GJUAF donated 15 computers to Production Engineering Department for its Computer Application Laboratory. (2022)

GJUAF initiated a Student Summer Intern Program. Two students were selected from Computer Science and Engineering Department and received stipends during the duration of this course. (2023)

GJUAF participated and contributed towards the centenary program for the Chemical Engineering Department. (2023)

Prof. Dipak Pal, Head, Geological Sciences Department, requested computers for their remote sensing GIS Labs. GJUAF provided 10 computers. (2023)

Current Activities

Discussions are being held with Professors and Head of the departments (Chairperson) for financial support from GJUAF. Through June, 2023, GJUAF has received proposals from the following departments for a total budget of $260,000 (approx. Rs 2 crores)

An innovative initiative is launched at Jadavpur University:

• An Industry-academic joint venture program for developing commercial product
• A program for assisting Professors with travel needs to present papers in an international conference
