The laboratory experimental facility of the Electrical Machine and Drives Laboratory, Electrical Engineering Department is utilized by UG Eng.-I and II students of the faculty of Engineering and Technology of the main campus of the Jadavpur University. As mandated by the NBA requirement, UG Eng. first year students of all engineering programs perform their Electrical Technology (E.Tech.) Laboratory work in this laboratory. The second year UG students from the Mechanical Engineering Department also perform E.Tech. Laboratory. UG students of the Electrical Engineering Department perform Electrical Machines laboratory WORK throughout the four-year curriculum. The same facility is also utilized by students of the 5-Year BEE (Evening) program offered for the working professionals.
The project will benefit about 1200 UG students each year from all other departments for performing Electrical Machine Laboratory work. Without the procurement of new equipment, some experiments remain suspended due to availability of proper instruments thereby affecting the learning of the students.
