Nikhiles received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the Jadavpur University in 1966 and a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado in 1968.

Since his graduation from the University of Colorado, he has worked over 40 years for major Corporations in the US including Tenneco Chemicals, CF Braun, Sherwin Williams Chemicals, CIBA-Geigy, Baker Environmental, Occidental Chemicals and Connestoga Rovers & Associates holding various Corporate level senior management positions. He is currently retired and living in Grand Island, New York. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
